Camera, Direction and Editing by Matt Bucy
This short documentary chronicles twelve hours of a Mardi Gras day in New Orleans, 2003. I mounted a fake “Mitchell” camera on a home-made crane that sat atop my shoulder. On the other was a small fresnel with LEDs in it. I put my Canon XL1 inside the fake and shot all day continuously. For most of the shoot I couldn’t see what I was shooting because my small monitor died after about a half hour. It was my longest shoot without a viewfinder or playback!
